Suddath Supports Local Backpack Drive
Suddath provided helping hands for Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center’s (DCAC) annual backpack drive, which gives over 100 children healing from abuse school supplies for a fresh start to the new year. Suddath’s Dallas-Fort Worth team happily provided a truck, professional movers and additional resources to make distribution easier for the non-profit.
“We were delighted to help an organization that gives back to our community,” Mike Torres, Suddath Workplace Solutions sales executive said. “We consider it our duty to care and support each community.”
Murphey Sears, Chief Development Officer at DCAC commented, “I think it’s an incredibly powerful statement when a corporation will partner with DCAC because I think it says, we align with your mission. It tells other community members where their values are—that their values are in saving the lives and helping the lives of abused children in Dallas County.”

FEATURED NEWS AND INFO
DALLAS MOVING COMPANY FAQ
The cost of movers in Dallas can vary based on factors like the size of your home, the distance of your move, and any additional services you choose, such as packing or storage. Full-service moves will be more expensive but offer convenience. Seasonal demand can also impact pricing, so moving during off-peak times might help you save.
Suddath Moving and Storage in Dallas offers a range of services, from packing and unpacking to specialized moves for fragile or bulky items. You can also choose storage solutions, furniture assembly and disassembly, as well as international relocation services. Whether you need help with a local or international move, you’ll find flexible options tailored to your needs.
It’s recommended to book your Dallas movers as early as possible, especially during peak moving seasons like summer. Ideally, book your movers at least four to six weeks in advance to ensure availability and to secure your preferred date. For last-minute moves, contact us to check for available slots.
For a typical local move within Dallas, the time needed depends on the size of your home and the amount of items being moved. Smaller moves can often be completed within a few hours, while larger moves may take the better part of a day. Your moving coordinator will give you a more accurate timeline based on your situation.
International moving requires more planning and coordination than domestic moves. Suddath will guide you through the entire process, from packing and shipping to customs clearance and delivery. We handle all the details, including transportation and international regulations, to make sure your belongings arrive safely at your new destination.
When choosing an international moving company, look for one with experience in handling international regulations and customs. The company should offer door-to-door service, flexible storage options, and a clear process for tracking your shipment. Ensure they have a strong reputation for handling international relocations smoothly and efficiently. Suddath, your premier Dallas moving company, fits the bill for everything you would need for an international move.
Coverage of some kind is encouraged. You should understand that if you don’t add on valuation coverage, your goods are automatically insured for .60 per lb. per article. Meaning that an item weighing 100 lbs. would be worth $60 in insurance, in the rare event it was to be damaged. With valuation, you can get full value protection if that item is worth more than .60 per lb. It’s important also to understand the difference between valuation coverage and 3rd party insurance coverage. Typical 3rd party coverage does not cover transit-related claims. Learn more about valuation coverage in our blog on the topic.
Yes, we can. Although we don’t personally move your pets, we work with a company called Air Animal. They have provided pet relocations for our Dallas-Fort Worth customers for years. We also have several tips about how to manage pets during your move, that can provide helpful information if you decide to move your pets yourself. We also have a helpful pet moving checklist to ensure that you have everything you need to ensure a smooth transition for your pet family members.
Yes, we can. Suddath is an agent for Atlas Van Lines, and Atlas provides us with preferred vendors to help with the relocation of automobiles for our valued customers. Your move coordinator will work directly with Atlas to provide a quote, along with pickup and delivery information, to assist you with this service request.
Yes, you have the option to choose any day you would like to have your items loaded. We do, however, offer some tips on choosing your move date. Because Suddath takes safety seriously, we generally try to avoid loading on Sundays. This gives our van operators and service crew members time to rest and reset their hours on the service clock. Also, in most cases, it’s cheaper to move on weekdays like a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. This option gives you a chance to save a few hard-earned dollars.
And while you can choose any day to load your items, your Dallas move coordinator will discuss a delivery window with you for when they will be unloaded in your new destination.
Typical issues we consider as a Dallas moving company include the need to use shuttles in areas where our larger trucks may not be able to go, elevator reservations when moving to downtown areas, parking permits and covering a very widespread area.
However, our local coordinators are very familiar and knowledgeable in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and can provide you with any information or guidance you may need in your move.
In the unfortunate event that an item is damaged, your move coordinator will guide you through the process of filing a claim. Once submitted to Suddath’s claims department, a claims adjuster will be assigned as a single POC to expedite your claim. This process will be tailored to your schedule to minimize any interruptions into your personal time.
This depends on the customer’s needs and budget. To start off, we offer both in-home and virtual walkthrough survey options. Either can be set up at your convenience, but I would suggest an in-home survey if you have a larger move. However, a virtual walkthrough can be done on your phone or tablet, and can be more expedient if you have a busy schedule.
Within those, we can also provide full-service moving estimates to include: full pack/unpack services, maid service, automobile relocation, storage, etc.
To help on your relocation cost if you’re more budget-conscious, we can provide estimates for partial or custom packs, containerization program, and local hourly estimates to include full-service relocation, down to the moving of large items only. We have several different options to meet your needs, whatever they may be.
We are very experienced in handling your international moving needs. You would be assigned a personal move counselor who’s available to answer questions and help you reach your destination as quickly as possible. Your single-point-of-contact will guide you through the entire process including customs and documentation and international insurance coverage options. At destination, Suddath partners with best-in-class, overseas agents to ensure your goods are handled with care.
Suddath has had the distinct honor of winning International Moving Company of the Year five times in the past seven years: in 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018 and again in 2019. The award highlights Suddath’s positive impact on our clients and their assignees, innovation and cost management and dedication to quality.
As a Dallas local moving company, Suddath takes safety and quality personally. Our van operators and service crew members go through an extensive training course prior to servicing any of our valued customers. This includes hands on training in: inventory exceptions, packing, loading, delivery, property protection, soft skills and paperwork training.
We also require all our service crew members to pass a 5-star background check as part of the hiring process. Lastly, we keep safety and quality fresh on everyone’s mind by hosting weekly and monthly quality and safety meetings to ensure proper processes are being followed.
Yes, and you have two options for storage – short and long-term storage. The primary difference between short (or what might be commonly referred to as ‘storage in transit’) and long-term storage (otherwise called permanent storage) is the timeframe for which your household items will be stored. However, for interstate moves, it’s important to note that short-term storage caps at 180 days.
In either case, your items will be stored in a fully-enclosed vault within a Dallas warehouse. With vault storage, our warehouse staff will pad wrap your valuables and carefully store them in the container.
Yes. We know that executive-level relocations require specialized attention so that employees are free to focus on their professional commitments. The Suddath Nobility program was created to serve these customers. The Nobility service is a commitment to delivering a comprehensive program for designated transferees.
Nobility focuses on offering highly personalized services that cater to your executive transferee’s most important needs. Our team is made up of experienced, executive staff members, and they meet to plan timelines and discuss personal touches that are all designed to ensure no detail is left unattended.
The Nobility program inclusions are:
• An on-site project manager
• Dedicated account manager (available 24/7)
• Blueprint for service, specialized material and home care needs

• Electronic document package
• Hand-selected van operator and crew assignment
Yes. Suddath has a partnership with Move For Hunger, a non-profit organization that teams up with the relocation industry to fight hunger by collecting non-perishable food items and delivering them to food banks.
The discard and donation program is free to customers, and turns every move into an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people in need. Suddath helped our customers donate over 41,600 lbs. of food in 2017 through this initiative with Move For Hunger. Read more about this amazing partnership.
Yes, we offer a very flexible and affordable service. With the Suddath Declutter & Store Program, we make it easy for you to make a great impression on prospective buyers. Our Dallas movers will load and pack your excess items into one or more of our storage vaults. We then store your items in our secure warehouse until you need them delivered. According to the National Association of Realtors, on average, a staged home vs. a non-staged home will sell for up to 10% more and 95% of staged homes sell in 11 days or less, so we make it as easy for you.
