International Shipping Options
Suddath® provides transportation services via air, sea and land to meet your specific shipment needs. We take into consideration shipment size (weight and volume), origin and destination, available service options, cost components and customer expectations.
The transportation components of our international moving services are scheduled to coordinate with origin services and all aspects are updated in our Global Move Management Software (GMMS) platform.
An international move can be an overwhelming experience, but with an experienced international moving company like Suddath by your side, a process like document preparation is made simple and accurate, and will help you ensure a smoother transition.
INTERNATIONAL MOVING SIMPLIFIED
Less Than Container Load Shipments
For less than container load shipments (LCL), industry-standard new or quality used lift vans are utilized. All air freight shipments are packed into industry standard tri-walled corrugate, palletized, banded air containers (E, D, and LDN). We also use lay-down wardrobes for air shipments to achieve maximum density. All lift vans are sealed and waterproofed prior to loading.
Full Container Load Shipments
Suddath typically orders 20-foot, 40-foot or 40-foot-high cube containers depending upon the volume requirement of the shipment. Prior to loading, containers are thoroughly inspected for any holes or leaks, and the bottom swept.
Steamship containers are loaded at your residence and unloaded at the destination residence, unless restricted by poor access. Containers are held within our agents’ secured facilities prior to and after port drayage, then remain sealed throughout transport unless a visual inspection is required by the customs agent in the destination country.
Custom Crating
All containers are specially treated and fumigated to meet environmental and customs standards, eliminating the need for drawn-out customs clearance procedures and reducing overall transit times. However, custom-built crates for international relocation services, when necessary, will be constructed to achieve the maximum possible density and protection for sensitive, fragile or high-value items should industry standard packing containers not provide the optimum density and/or load integrity.
