We believe that the only way to keep moving forward is to continually learn, grow and develop. We support a wide variety of educational initiatives to help our employees, their family members and our local communities achieve their educational goals, including offering a tuition reimbursement benefit, an annual college tuition scholarship program for the children of our employees, and participating in back-to-school drives around the nation.

Suddath’s Scholarship Program

Suddath’s scholarship program was originally launched in 1990 and expanded to present three annual awards that honor company leaders for their support of educational opportunities and contributions to the business, its culture and future growth. All graduating seniors of current employees may apply, and the scholarship criteria are based on a combination of GPA, community involvement and personal achievements. Award recipients are provided up to $12,000 to cover annual tuition, books and fees for four years at a state university or college. Highlights of the program include:

Providing students with more than $800,000 in total scholarship support

Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center Support

Committed to bettering communities around the globe, Suddath® stepped in to help the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC) distribute school supplies to children healing from abuse. The backpacks are filled with age-appropriate school items and distributed to children throughout Dallas County, Texas to help them have the best possible start to the school year. When DCAC needed help getting supplies to children to continue their lives after trauma, they called on Suddath. Our team members:

Donated items and filled 800 backpacks with supplies
Offered professional moving and transportation professionals and Suddath vehicles to load, transport and unload the packs at their destination centers

Tools for Schools

One of many ways we support the health, education and financial stability of members throughout the Broward County, Florida community is to partner with United Way and Publix. As participants in a collaborative annual Tools for Schools drive for over seven years, Suddath teams have helped equip the next generation of learners and the professionals who educate them with the resources they need to succeed. Highlights of our community collaboration include:

Donating over $500,000 worth of school supplies to teachers and schools annually to support more than 700 public school teachers
Providing 1,250 items of electronic equipment, including computers, to help children have greater access to technology and digital learning

UNF Logistics IT Solutions Lab

Suddath is a proud sponsor of the University of North Florida (UNF) Suddath Logistics Information Technology Solutions (LITS) lab.

As part of a multi-year commitment from Suddath to UNF, the lab has been equipped with the technology, tools and resources that are in use in the industry today, helping students acquire critical and practical skills for job readiness. Students in the transportation and logistics program can now engage in more meaningful collaboration, discussion, research and problem-solving, using simultaneous live-data feeds across multimodal transport systems – including road, rail, sea and air.

As a growing global leader in logistics and international commerce, the Jacksonville region is an ideal learning hub and offers multiple opportunities for rewarding careers in the transportation industry.

Local University Partnership

Suddath partners with the university in many ways, including offering internships, presenting to undergraduate and graduate classes, reviewing and providing feedback on course work and contributing to faculty advisory boards.

Dreams Come True

As part of our support of youth development, our Jacksonville Community has partnered with Dreams Come True for over 8 years. Dreams Come True, through their holiday sponsorship program, provides gifts to children battling life-threatening illnesses and their siblings. Each year, Suddath hosts a holiday party for families that feel comfortable attending so that they can open some presents together. Occasionally, even Santa has been known to make an appearance!
