JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Dec. 12, 2016) – Suddath® Global Logistics, a division of The Suddath Companies, was instrumental in the logistics and staging required for the opening of the Sperry store in Disney Springs. The Disney Sperry store was built to specifications of the new concept design that won a 2016 Visual Merchandising and Store Design (VMSD) Honorable Mention Award. The Sperry store, which is an affiliate of Wolverine Worldwide, is located in the recently opened Town Center of Disney Springs. When Wolverine Worldwide was looking for a logistics partner to overcome the complex delivery challenges at this site, Suddath was the clear partner for the project.
The Suddath team met with the Wolverine Worldwide Store Development construction team several times to plan and execute the various solutions required for handling, access, and delivery during early morning hours in this high security, busy construction traffic area. Suddath received, repacked and staged all of the furnishings and fixtures for the store at the Orlando warehouse. The Suddath team arranged for small hand truck deliveries to be made after hours to ensure that no guests to the Disney property were inconvenienced. All of the Sperry merchandise and visuals for the grand opening were also housed in the Suddath warehouse and delivered to the new location for store display and stocking.
According to Heather Dietrichson, Director of Store Design for Wolverine Worldwide, “We would not have been able to meet the goals of the Disney Store opening and the Sperry program without the partnership of Suddath.”
