Mike Brannigan
President and Chief Executive Officer
As President and CEO, Michael J. Brannigan oversees the executive leadership, strategic direction and overall growth and profitability of all subsidiaries of The Suddath Companies. Mike is known for his engaging leadership style and commitment to hard work, teamwork and customer service. Under his leadership, Suddath has grown significantly across its diverse business units.
Since joining Suddath in 2012 as Chief Operating Officer, Mike has overseen the realignment, diversification and growth of the company to its current operating model. His focus is on driving profitable growth through comprehensive organic growth and strategic acquisitions, the customer experience, safety and quality, innovation and digital strategies, streamlining operations through process efficiencies and the employee experience.
Prior to joining Suddath, Mike served as Chief Financial Officer at iGPS, spent 17 years in various financial and operational leadership positions at Ryder System, Inc. and held positions at Procter & Gamble and Arthur Andersen. Mike has an MBA from Cornell University and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Albright College.
Kevin Gannon
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Kevin Gannon leads administrative, financial and risk management operations that guide financial decisions made across The Suddath Companies. Since joining Suddath in 2002, he has served in a variety of roles including Vice President/Controller, Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Operations. With over nine years of public accounting experience with a focus on taxation, he has served as Suddath’s Chief Financial Officer since 2016.
Before he joined Suddath, Kevin was a Senior Manager with Deloitte & Touche, LLP where he provided tax, auditing, transaction and consulting services to his clients.
Kevin is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Florida and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Master of Accounting degree from the University of Florida Fisher School of Accounting.
Joanna Aman, Esquire
Executive General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer
Joanna Aman has been general counsel for The Suddath Companies for nearly 20 years and is responsible for the oversight of the legal, compliance and regulatory functions of the enterprise.
Joanna started at Suddath in the Risk Department, which at the time was a department of one. She quickly went on to establish the legal department and became Suddath’s first in-house counsel. Over the years, Joanna has taken on progressive responsibilities including promotions to general counsel and chief compliance officer. She received her certified compliance and ethics professional designation in 2012. Before that she practiced corporate, transportation, relocation, employment and real estate law.
Joanna holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in intercultural studies from Trinity College and a Juris Doctor from Georgia State University College of Law, where she was a member of the Moot Court Board. She is active in several legal and industry associations including the American Trucking Associations, Association of Corporate Counsel, Society for Human Resource Management, the Florida Bar Association and other state bar associations.
Richard Thomas
Senior Vice President, Information Technology
Richard Thomas serves as SVP of Information Technology for The Suddath Companies where he oversees enterprise technologies and operations. With over 30 years of global industry experience, Richard has successfully implemented enterprise-wide strategies, emerging technologies and worldwide business initiatives. He leverages his expertise, vision and thought leadership to maximize the benefits of technology for Suddath’s global enterprise.
Prior to his current role, Richard served as Vice President of Innovation, managing product delivery, field experience and IT strategies for Suddath’s Moving & Logistics business line. Before joining The Suddath Companies, he held various senior technology roles at CSX Transportation, Avility LLC, Merrill Lynch and Florida East Coast Industries.
Michelle Beiter
Chief People Officer
Michelle leads Suddath’s global HR team, fostering a rewarding workforce experience in which more than 2,000+ diverse team members across 45 locations and multiple roles can thrive and grow. She believes wholeheartedly that an organization’s people are its greatest assets, or the “secret sauce,” as she likes to say, and is driven by a passion for helping companies, clients and employees succeed, together.
Before joining Suddath, Michelle held executive HR positions with ODW Logistics and Safelite AutoGlass, where she successfully led large and geographically dispersed HR teams to achieve and exceed their talent and business goals. She is well versed in change management, having led organizations through strategic acquisitions and the revision of talent planning and development models. She has implemented new performance measurement and total reward programs as well, helping to drive efficiencies, grow market share and improve employee engagement.
Michelle brings more than 25 years of experience to her role, cultivated across several HR disciplines in the third-party logistics (3PL), financial services, healthcare, insurance and retail industry sectors. She holds a B.A. from Ohio University and the PHR and CCP certifications from HRCI and WorldatWork, respectively.

Vice President of Marketing
Michelle O’Connor is the Vice President of Marketing at The Suddath Companies, managing the organization’s marketing agency, brand development, website strategies, creative services, reputation management, and CRM program management. With over 20 years of experience, she has a dynamic role in fostering a culture of excellence and innovation within the marketing team. Her strategic and operational expertise ensures a unified marketing approach that aligns with the company’s objectives and maintains a consistent corporate image across all initiatives.
Her leadership is characterized by a strong ability to blend tactical execution with strategic foresight, empowering her teams to utilize insights, data and best practices to make impactful business decisions. Michelle’s career includes marketing roles in the architectural, engineering and construction industry, where she has driven business growth and team performance through her focused and innovative marketing strategies.

Scott Kelly
President, Government Services
Scott Kelly leads Suddath Government Services, dedicated to providing only the best in worldwide relocation services to over 30,000 military and government agency personnel and their families.
Scott is an industry veteran with 35 years of experience, responsible for the development and oversight for the Department of Defense and General Services Administration business, including, but not limited to Department of State, Bureau of Public Debt, Drug Enforcement Administration and the United States Postal Service. He led Suddath’s successful participation in the Department of Defense Household Goods Re-Engineering Program and the Full-Service Moving Project pilot program, under which Suddath was one of only six providers worldwide chosen to participate.
As an active member and committee participant of all major government-related industry organizations, including the International Association of Movers, American Moving and Storage Association, California Movers Association and National Defense Transportation Association, Scott and his team are dedicated to serving those who serve. In addition, Scott is one of a small select group of executives chosen to participate in U.S. Transportation Command’s Executive Working Group.
Walter Myers
President, Moving & Storage
As President of Moving & Storage, Walter Myers is responsible for leading Suddath’s global and domestic household goods business units, including the Suddath and Daryl Flood brands.
He is a trusted leader who has held multiple progressively responsible roles throughout the company since joining in 2013, including leading several business units. He has been responsible for operations, finance and accounting, claims, procurement/vendor management, sales, operations planning, and data analytics.
He brings 20 years of operations and corporate finance experience to his role, including developing capital investment and business strategies, instituting corporate analytics programs, and raising equity and debt financing.
Walter holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and a master’s in business administration from the University of North Florida Coggin College of Business in Jacksonville.
Bob Papuga
President, Workplace Solutions
As President of Suddath’s commercial and workplace services division, Bob brings more than 45 years of experience in the moving and storage business with an emphasis on commercial solutions.
Bob started at Suddath in 2004 as Vice President of Commercial Services and in 2013, was promoted to Senior Vice President of Business Development. He stepped into his current role overseeing Suddath’s commercial and workplace services division in 2021. Over the past two decades, Bob’s knowledge of the industry and passion for Suddath have been instrumental in growing and expanding Suddath’s commercial services, with a focus on innovation and customer service at its core.
Prior to joining Suddath, he held the role of President and General Manager at Vision Moving Solutions, which helped frame his perspective on how to execute commercial moving services on a national scale.
David Dance
President, Sterling Lexicon
As President of Sterling Lexicon, a subsidiary of The Suddath Companies and a leading provider of optimized global mobility services, David Dance has global leadership responsibility for the entire organization and is responsible for the overall strategic development of the business, driving revenues and profitability, expanding operational and technology capabilities and improving the overall client and transferee experience.
With more than 20 years in the relocation industry, David leads the charge in ensuring Sterling Lexicon delivers world-class experiences to customers around the world.
Prior to joining Sterling Lexicon, David was president at Paramount Transportation Systems (PTS) for more than six years. He previously worked for Suddath’s international division, where he served more than five years as Vice President of Finance and Strategic Development. He also served 10 years in positions of increasing responsibility at Cartus, culminating in his role as Director of Global Supplier Relations. David earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame and his MBA from Sacred Heart University in Connecticut.

Steve Suddath
Chairman of the Board
A third-generation leader and grandson of founder Carl Suddath, Steve Suddath grew up in the moving and storage business. This experience gives him a deeper and more personal perspective in his role as Chairman, where he provides guidance to the company’s officers and executives and strategic direction to the company as a whole.
Steve has steered the organization his grandfather founded through sweeping industry changes. For more than three decades, he was involved in both domestic and international moving operations and worked alongside leaders of Suddath business units and branch offices to enhance the quality of service provided to our customers while ensuring growth and profitability.
Steve serves on the Executive Committees of the Boy Scouts of America and the American Diabetes Association. He also served on the Mayor’s Growth Management Task Force and gives support to over 30 charities in Northeast Florida, having served on many of their boards. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Florida State University.
Barry S. Vaughn
Vice Chairman
Barry S. Vaughn serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of The Suddath Companies. He joined Suddath in 1974 and has held various executive leadership positions within the company, including serving as CEO from 2003 through 2015.
As Suddath’s CEO, Barry oversaw growth of nearly 300% during his tenure, one of the most significant periods of the company’s global expansion. He also led Suddath to the forefront of many industry advancements, including testing and implementing alternative methods of transportation, deploying paperless technologies, growing its military and government relationships and building one of the most enviable leadership teams and organizations in the industry.
Barry has served on the UniGroup board of directors for 14 years, and in 2018 was elected as its Chairman. He has engaged as a key industry influencer, actively participating in FIDI and OMNI, and most notably, serving as a board member of AMSA, chairing its Government Affairs/Traffic Committee and serving on the Executive Committee. Barry remains active in numerous civic and industry endeavors.
Barbara Strickland
Vice President and Secretary
Barbara “Babs” Strickland, granddaughter of founder Carl Suddath, started working summers at Suddath at age 12 and today serves as Vice President and Secretary of the Board. Before serving on the Board, Babs was an attorney and partner at Mahoney, Adams and Criser, P.A. and prior to that, she taught French language at the University of Virginia.
A true trailblazer, Babs became the first woman to serve on the Jacksonville Port Authority Board, ultimately becoming its chair in 1995. Today, she is a member of the Florida Bar Association and participates in the Fiduciary Board of Infilaw, a consortium of law schools. She also serves as a member of the executive committee for the Pacolet Area Conservancy, a non-profit land trust in Tryon, North Carolina.
Jim Barnett
Board Member
Jim Barnett is actively involved in fiduciary management of the Suddath organization. He has held several leadership roles with the organization, including 13 years as the company’s Chief Financial Officer, overseeing internal and external reporting, long-range planning, corporate and strategic development, treasury, retirement plan administration and forecasting.
In the last four decades, through various roles, Jim has helped Suddath grow from a seven-location moving and storage company to a multi-million-dollar global transportation, logistics and relocation management enterprise.
Jim has a Bachelor of Science degree from Jacksonville University, which he earned while working his first job at Suddath.
