EASIER LONG DISTANCE MOVING
Professional Services for Any Need
When you’ve been moving people for as long as we have, you learn how to move just about anything. Our team can expertly handle fine art, pianos and other instruments, wine collections, cars, boats, and many other unique items. We specialize in providing customized crating and packaging for these items to ensure they arrive safely to your new home.
Dedicated El Paso Coordinators
Moving long distance can be even more stressful than a local move, and we make it our goal to take as much of that stress off your shoulders as possible. One of the things that makes Suddath stand out from other long-distance moving companies is that when you choose Suddath to move you to a new city, state, or country, our first step is to assign a move coordinator to you.
This coordinator will be a single point of contact for you during the entire cross-country moving process and will work with you to arrange all of the steps in a long-distance move. Your move coordinator knows exactly what steps to take and when to take them.
250+ Hours of Dedicated Training
Your furniture and items have a long journey to make, and how they are packed and loaded into the truck makes a big difference in keeping them safe and secure. That is why we have dedicated time in our internal training curriculum for learning how to move items during a long-distance move, especially specialty items. We teach our long-distance movers how to properly protect, move and set up these items, using our high-end equipment. At Suddath, our drivers attend our own week-long training curriculum called Suddath University, where they are put through rigorous training on how to safely move your belongings across great distances.
Flexible Storage Solutions
If you’re unable to take certain things with you on your long-distance move, we can help you take care of those items. We offer short- and long-term storage space in El Paso, and we’re able to store your household belongings securely with us at any point before, during or after your cross-country move. Your move coordinator can help you easily set up storage services, and determine with you when your items need to be delivered back to you.
SPECIALIZED LONG-DISTANCE MOVING SERVICES
Concierge Moving
Our professional staff can offer a full-service concierge move for you, where we take care of all the inconveniences of moving long distance while you simply arrive in your new home ready to enjoy it.
Pet Moving
Make sure your furry family members also have a stress-free long-distance moving experience. We will coordinate with trusted Suddath partners who specialize in safe and secure interstate pet relocations.
Custom Crating
There are some special pieces that require something different than a cardboard box for packing. Our team is trained to be able to build custom containers to safely pack and transport items that may need specific care.
Car Moving
Due to time constraints and distance, driving your vehicle to your new home may not be an option. Your move coordinator can facilitate car transport to your new home as part of your moving plan.
LONG-DISTANCE MOVING RESOURCES
EL PASO LONG-DISTANCE MOVING FAQ
One of the first steps your Suddath long distance moving crew will take is to install our high-quality door, floor and wall protection around the home. This way, we can carefully avoid injuring your home. We also pad and un-pad all of your furniture in and outside of the home during the loading and delivery process.
But the main way we make sure to protect your items is through our employees and crew members. That is why we background-check and thoroughly train all crew members before they ever step foot in your home. This makes sure that everyone understand their role in the move, what steps need to be taken, and how to take those steps properly. We fully believe that investment in our people is what differentiates Suddath in El Paso and protects your goods during a move.
In the moving business, it is nearly impossible for everyone to be a full-time employee. Especially when it comes to long-distance drivers, they tend to work as contractors either for Suddath, or our long-distance van line, Atlas Van Lines. However, the majority work exclusively with Suddath, and typically have for many years. You can meet some of our drivers here.
Being in partnership with Atlas means that we can work together to make sure that we reach every corner of the country and ensure that every driver we work with is interstate qualified. They must complete the same qualification process for local and long-distance moves. We also enforce strict compliance with safety by putting all of our drivers through an in-depth background checking process. This process includes drug screening, criminal records, and driving records.
All Suddath team members who enter a customer’s home are required to display their crew ID number. This number indicates that they’ve completed our intense screening process and have been fully compliant with our safety processes. While some van operators may be contractors, they will have completed and passed the same background screening and safety training as our salaried employees.
Starting as early as possible is best, ideally around eight weeks before your moving date. If you have less time than that before you need to move, don’t worry. Suddath has been serving as long-distance movers in El Paso for 40 years. No matter how short your timeline is, we can help you get everything done on time and provide you with a detailed moving checklist to help you decide what tasks you should be completing and when. When you begin working with your dedicated move coordinator, they will customize a timeline and checklist for your unique moving needs.
You will be automatically provided with a $0.60 per lb. valuation, free of charge. However, we are happy to provide additional valuation coverage to every customer that wants more protection. To determine this, look around at your more valuable items, think about how heavy they are, and if $0.60 per lb would work for you if that item was broken or damaged.
One thing you should keep in mind is that valuation coverage is not insurance. In order to procure insurance for your interstate move, you will need to work through a licensed insurance company, or check your homeowners insurance to see what might be covered.
Learn more about your valuation coverage options in our blog post on the subject.
