We don’t take this effort lightly and do everything we can to make your transition as smooth as possible. Expert packing and unpacking is second nature to us, and we know that a good packing strategy is key to a positive home moving experience. We provide three flexible options to help you have the packing and moving experience that will work best for you and your budget.
HOME MOVE PACKING 101
Full-Service Packing Services: We’ll Take the Lead
With our professional packers, you can get the assistance you need to get your move prepped and ready to go, without any investing your own time or sweat equity. We use only the best materials and techniques and employ background-checked, professional packers who are rigorously trained in our packing techniques before being charged with packing your home. This means they will show up on packing day with all of the boxes, bubble wrap, tape, protections and blankets that your items need. We move people every day of the year, so the careful handling of delicate or sentimental items is of the utmost importance to us. If you don’t have the time or means to pack your home yourself, the full-service option takes a lot of stress off you while we handle it all.
Partial Packing: A Team Effort
Packing takes a little more than just putting items in boxes— there’s a science to it. If you’re uncomfortable handling fragile, valuable, large or awkward items, we can take those off your hands and give them the care they need, while still leaving you the flexibility to pack the rest yourself. With partial packing services, we’ll still personally blanket wrap furniture, appliances or other items that require it before we load them onto our trucks.
The partial packing service is flexible to meet your budget and needs. We will only pack the items you tell us to, and regardless of what you pack yourself, we will carefully blanket wrap all of your furniture.
DIY Packing: The Budget-Friendly Option
If you’re on a tight moving budget, or simply prefer to handle packing yourself, you can absolutely do your own packing. Your move coordinator can give you packing tips to help you get started, and then on moving day the furniture and heavy items will be carefully protected by us alongside the items you packed yourself.
The DIY packing option is just one of the ways you can enjoy the benefits of working with first-class, professional movers while still watching your budget. We can:
• Recommend packing supplies and moving and packing tips
• Blanket wrap your furniture and appliances before loading them onto our trucks
• Put everything where you want it
• You can unpack at your own convenience
Suddath offers different unpacking options as part of our moving and packing services. Your moving team can place your furniture and other items in the proper rooms, then unpack and haul away any leftover boxes. We can unpack only the items you tell us to, or simply place boxes and furniture in the right rooms so you can unpack when you’re ready. If you aren’t sure which packing and unpacking option works for you or are ready to get started, feel free to contact us for packing guidance and advice.

3 Things Never to Pack to Keep You and Your Mover Safe
When you plan what to pack, it’s also important to know what not to pack for a safe residential move. By law, there are many things a mover is not allowed to take. Know the rules ahead of time. Don’t pack these three types of things when hiring long-distance or local movers.

PACKING SERVICES FAQ
While we cannot give you exact numbers without the details of your home, but there are a few factors that can affect the cost of packing services. They include:
• The size of your home
• Any specialty packing needs (antiques, or delicate items that require custom crating)
• How quickly you need your home packed
Hiring a packing company can actually be a cost-saving move if you factor in the time you would spend off of or outside of work buying supplies, organizing and packing.
Here are some ways to save money on packing services costs:
• Supply your own boxes. If you can supply your own boxes, especially if you can find free boxes from a recent move, you eliminate the need to purchase them from the moving company.
• Donate unwanted items. It doesn’t make sense to pack and move items that you’re just going to get rid of. Take stock of your belongings and get rid of stuff that doesn’t need to make the move.
• Pack some things yourself. If you have the time to pack some items yourself, opt for the partial packing service. Save only the items that are particularly heavy, fragile, or difficult to move for the professional packing and moving company.
